New Orleans holds a special place in my heart. I’ve been lucky enough to visit twice, with plans to return again this year. There’s a magic about the city’s vibrant culture, rich history, and thriving energy that leaves me wanting more each time.
Plan Ahead for the Perfect NOLA Experience
If you’re planning a trip, keep an eye on the weather. New Orleans can get hot and humid—think Texas heat but with extra intensity. Pack lightweight clothing, skip heavy makeup unless you’ve got a setting spray that works miracles, and stay hydrated to enjoy your visit to the fullest.
One thing I’ve learned from locals is to approach dining on Bourbon Street with caution. While I’ve never had a bad experience, cleanliness concerns have been reported, so it’s always a good idea to do your research. That said, Bourbon Street is a hub of live music, bars, shops, and street art, reminiscent of Austin’s 6th Street—only better, because you can walk around with your drinks!
