If you know me, you know an espresso martini is basically a non-negotiable. I don’t care what time it is or where I am: I’m having at least one before the night is over. Period.

I’ve been slowly making my way through Austin’s espresso martini scene, and while I’m not ready to name a favorite just yet, I am ready to share the lineup so far. Whether you like yours frozen, creamy, rich, or bold, here are some of the places around Austin (and nearby) that know how to do it right.

Murray’s Tavern
📍 2316 Webberville Rd, Austin, TX 78702
A laid-back spot with a polished menu and great cocktails, Murray’s impressed me with their espresso martini. I stopped by during happy hour and loved how balanced the drink was. Smooth espresso, just enough sweetness, and a cozy setting that made it easy to settle in for a few rounds. If you’re hungry, pair it with the Prime Rib or their flavorful shrimp cocktail.

Drinks Backyard
📍 6328 S Hwy 183, Austin, TX 78744
This Southeast Austin gem feels like someone turned their backyard into your new favorite hangout. The espresso martini was bold and flavorful, served alongside a lineup of hits like the spicy margarita and frozen Doo Wop. With a dog park, food trucks, and a laid-back vibe, this spot is perfect for everything from casual drinks to catching live music.

Easy Tiger @ The Linc
📍 6406 N I-35 Frontage Rd, Austin, TX 78752
This one might be top tier. Their espresso martini, made with New Amsterdam, espresso, and Kahlua, was incredibly smooth and rich. I paired it with their ultra-creamy mac and cheese and a lavender lemonade, and everything hit. The space is chill with plenty of seating, games, and a low-key vibe that makes you want to stay a while.

Rabbit Hole Bar
📍 2082 US Hwy 183 #145, Leander, TX 78641
Up in Cedar Park, Rabbit Hole won me over with its fun atmosphere and creative cocktails. I tried the Lola Bunny, which blended coffee liqueur, vanilla vodka, cold brew, and cream. It gave strong espresso martini energy in the best way. Between the neon signs, live performances, and friendly staff, it’s a go-to for a night out.

Geraldine’s
📍 605 Davis St, Austin, TX 78701
Inside Hotel Van Zandt, Geraldine’s brings upscale energy and doesn’t miss. I had their espresso martini during jazz brunch, and it was everything I wanted. Rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. With live music and a classy atmosphere, it’s a must for anyone wanting a luxe cocktail experience.

Drifters Social Coffee & Cocktails
📍 10630 Menchaca Rd Bldg A, Austin, TX 78748
This South Austin spot blends café comfort with cocktail bar energy. Their espresso martini hit the mark — bold, smooth, and perfect for transitioning from coffee time to cocktail hour. Whether you’re sipping solo or catching up with friends, this one deserves a spot in your rotation.

The Driskill Bar
📍 604 Brazos St, Austin, TX 78701
Historic and moody, The Driskill Bar has major main character energy. Their espresso martini is strong and classic, served in a setting that feels like old Austin glam. It’s a solid pick if you’re downtown and want a timeless version of this cocktail in a luxe atmosphere.

The Far Out Lounge
📍 8504 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78745
Known more for live music and vibey events, The Far Out Lounge also quietly delivers on drinks. Their espresso martini is smooth and satisfying, especially when you’re sipping under the string lights on their spacious outdoor patio. Great for catching a band or kicking off your weekend with something bold.

Latchkey (Frozen)
📍 1308 E 6th St, Austin, TX 78702
Latchkey keeps it fun with their frozen espresso martini, and yes, it absolutely hits. Strong and slushy, it’s the kind of drink you didn’t know you needed until you’re halfway through it. Great for cooling down during a night out on East 6th.

Central Machine Works (Frozen)
📍 4824 E Cesar Chavez St, Austin, TX 78702
This frozen version really surprised me. Icy, bold, and well balanced, it was better than expected and one of the best frozen takes I’ve had on this cocktail. A great option if you’re swinging by for a show or just vibing on the East Side.

Final Sip
I’m not ready to choose a favorite just yet because this journey is far from over. But if you’re hunting down a solid espresso martini in Austin, this lineup is a great starting point. Got a rec? Drop it in the comments or DM me — the search continues.
