If you love a good Bloody Mary, this festival needs to be on your radar.
I was gifted tickets by the organizers in exchange for sharing my experience, and I here is my honest take on it all.
Bloody Mary Fest Austin took over Fair Market on the East Side, and the indoor venue with a large lawn out back was a smart call because it kept everything running smoothly despite the rain that afternoon. Music was going, pours were fast, and the photo area was cute but pretty bare bones. We arrived just a few minutes after the doors opened, and it was already packed. That alone told me how much this event has grown.
The Tasting Experience
There were samples from a solid number of Austin restaurants and bars, and not every single one landed for me. Some ran too watery, a few were too thick, and two skipped tomato juice entirely, one with carrot juice and one with kale. Creative, but not my personal vibe.
The ones that stood out: Tumble 22, Industry, and Phoebe’s all brought serious Bloody Mary energy. I cast my vote for Tumble 22 on overall taste and garnishes. Both categories matter.
Everything Else Worth Mentioning
The temporary tattoo table and photo op were highlights. Vendor merch was great, but it went FAST (some were grabbing more than they needed), so get there early. There were small bites available, though I would love to see more food vendor partnerships in future years. After several samples, you will want something more hearty to eat.
Would I Go Back?
Yes. This one is genuinely for Bloody Mary lovers. If you are all in on the ingredients, the variations, and the culture around the drink, you will have a great afternoon. I’ve already left thinking about what will show up next year, and yes, I am counting all those vegetable garnishes as nutrition.
